Some good news, Marquette reverse swept DePaul and is now in the top 25 for RPI which makes Creighton 4-2 in top 25 matches for now. On the flip side, Penn State was on the brink of being upset by Ohio State but pulled off the win 16-14 in the 5th (they were down 11-13 at one point). Penn State has been a bit messy but it hasn't impacted their w/l record yet. They got pushed by Indiana and even Maryland to some degree in conference play.

Down to 4th in RPI behind Stanford. I doubt we'll be in the top 4 of the NCAA reveal tomorrow and not much chance of moving up the rest of the way. Best hope is that Texas loses to a weak SEC opponent, and the Big Ten and ACC teams cannibalize themselves. Oh yeah, and we win out.

Regarding Goetzinger, supposed to be a gametime decision Sunday. I thought it was interesting how KBB used Jaya last night. For the most part, she played offense much as she did at opposite but played defense as an MB. Not sure if KBB had planned to use Destiny on the right side in the third set, or if she just subbed in because TeStrake wasn't getting much done. Destiny has played almost exclusively as a sub for Ava and Norah in blowouts in previous matches.

I thought we weren’t as clean last night as previous weeks. But in the end, our firepower helped us overcome. Depaul should be a good test (as shown by their 5-setter with Marquette).

My guess is the committee will put us as the 6th overall team behind Neb, Louisville, Pitt, Penn St, Stanford. Then, we’ll really only move up if they stack up losses and we stay perfect in BE play.

Our Top 25 (4-2) and Top 50 (8-2) records are pretty comparable to the rest of the Top 8. We need Marquette to keep winning and then have 3 wins over them. NC State, Mizzou, or Rice would be nice if they somehow snuck into the Top 25, too. Purdue is a really good team, so hopefully they start making noise in the B10 and would be great if both KU and Purdue were Top 10 RPI to end the year (or USC).

Rice went 0-2 this week which will really hurt their chances of finishing Top 25. Fingers crossed for NC State and Mizzou though.

Here is the interview with the committee chair (Marquette associate AD and former Creighton student-athlete, Danielle Josetti). Unfortunately, there is almost no mention of Creighton other than being briefly brought up along with Pitt when she was asked about the "Eye test."

As of this morning: RPI 4, Massey 7, KPI 5, Evollve 3.

It was interesting how the NCAA used the RPI for sorting whom a team had beaten, but didn't use it to evaluate the team itself. The RPI is certainly flawed, so that's probably for the best. Too bad it didn't work in our favor, though.
