FWIW - George Mason also listed him at 6'3 as well

Always reminds me of Fletch. "He is actually 6'5 - 6'9 with the afro..."

Kolek measured at 6'1.25" without shoes, which is roughly 6'2.75" in shoes (which is how athletes' heights are listed on rosters because that's how they play the sport). 6'3" is a pretty reasonable listing.

I'll never understand people making a big deal out of this (like so many did to clown Bronny James). FWIW Creighton listed Doug at 6'8" and he measured at 6'6".25 without shoes, same difference as Kolek between listed height and combine measurement.

I posted Marquette because the OP said he was listed as 6-4. I wasn't making a big deal of it.

On a different note, Ersin Demir (never heard of him) is picking Kalk as first team All American and Pop Isaacs as second team.

Does anyone know if Pop is back in the gym and/or how he is recovering from surgery?

ooh - some actual basketball talk and thoughts below - thanks for inspiration Seattle

it's going to be interesting for this team - and even though we have Kalk and Ash back - I suspect it will take time for us to gel. Ash is only in his second year - and I expect solid improvement from him.

but - everyone else except for MM are either new or have pretty limited PT (Green/Traudt). All of our wings are new and some are new to CBB. So while Pop is experienced - coming off injury - and in new system has typically taken guys a while to really get things to click. Neal and Fedor are total wildcards in my mind right now. I kind of think it will be Neal at least early with his length, D ability, and CBB experience.

Making it even tougher - our schedule is a monster. So - I fully expect Mac to lean heavily on his starters as he has shown is his preference.

I do think it's possible that we might have some starting lineup tinkering this year unlike in the past - and he may not settle up on his main rotation until BE play.

A fit and trim Traudt repping the Jays in Grand Island.

At Creighton Bob Gibson majored in sociology and starred in Basketball and Baseball. In 1957 Gibson received a $3,000 sign-on bonus with St. Louis Cardinals, but delayed his HOF Cards career a year to play pro B-ball with the Harlem Globetrotters.

Well, tarnation, Jacob, we're just havin' fun is all. While Kolek is busy shortening up, you might want to think about lightening up.

The staff was cautious with Pop early on. He was limited to riding the bike and shooting at the side baskets the first few workouts. He progressed to warming up with the team and doing some of the lighter non-contact drills. The last two weeks or so, he participated fully with the team during the workouts. The guys left for summer vacation last Friday and will return to campus in a couple of weeks.

Good to know. Thanks for the update!

Is Mason fully participating?
