Good points being made, but all of you are REALLY underestimating LJ. I see him as the greatest impact of all the new players, including Pop and Fedor. LJ will end up playing in the NBA, the others will not. He may start off with under 20 minutes a game, but by end of year he will be playing 25-30 minutes a game and always at end of games. He will be an imposing force, just wait and see - go back and look at some clips of him again compared to clips of others. I am super high on his talents, and see him as someone that will rise to the top very quickly.

CU tweeted this today, so I assume it's from a recent practice. Mason is on his feet and looks like he had surgery on his thigh. Not sure which leg bone was supposed to be broken.

I don't know I'm trying to temper my expectations of LJ this year for a few reasons, even though I do agree with you I think he has the talent and opportunity to be an all-time Jay down the line. Here are my reasons:

1. He's really thin: A 6'4" 175-frame could be problematic on both ends in Big East play for year 1. Will be interesting to see how much muscle he can tack on before and during the season, but I think he could struggle with some of the physical aspects of college play early on.

2. He's got no right (yet): If you watch his tape, as exhilarating as it is, you'll notice Larry basically NEVER uses his right hand. He's not comfortable at all going right yet. Not something I'd worry about too much, he should be able to develop his off hand with little issues at the next level, but it will be a process and I wouldn't expect him to be able to go right pretty much at all year 1.

3. Experience and depth at guard: Ash, Pops, and Fedor (assuming he becomes official soon) are all 3 guards and will all play a lot next year. None of the 3 would be on the roster if they didn't get some playing time assurances imo. They're just all 3 that talented. I would not underestimate age and experience when it comes to hoops, and we've got 2 all-conference performers and another guy who has played pro hoops for 5 years now. All 3 will be 21+ for the majority of the season. 3 adults that I think will just command the lionshare of the minutes even if Fedor sees a lot of time at the 3.

Saw LJ on his official visit on a Saturday practice. Coaches leave floor and managers organize 30 minutes of scrimmaging.Quick jumper. As coach said, "he is a 1%". That means he is good. Couldn't be stopped. Athleticsism off the charts. Explodes to the basket. He is playing.

Before we got word basically confirming Zugic is coming, I expected LJ to play a significant role off the bench. Obviously that has now changed.

No one with functioning retinas can deny LJ's athletic ability. Dude's head is at the rim on some of his highlight dunks. Like I have said repeatedly in his recruiting thread, he is an NBA-level athlete. But basketball is a skill game. How is his ball handling, shooting, his ability to read a defense and make good decisions quickly? PnR?

And defensive skills too. Can he learn rotations quickly, how and when to communicate? How to defend the PnR?

No matter how breathtaking his athletic ability -- he needs a certain level of skill to earn more than garbage time on a team as good as Creighton. And FWIW, I disagree with FunkyTown's take that he won't be ready physically. I think he will. He looks broad in the shoulders and the clips I've seen show that he can handle a good amount of physical contact. His PT and role on the team will come down to his readiness skills- and IQ-wise.

I'm pretty sure LJ is right-handed. I know he drives and dunks a lot with his left, but if you watch his shooting form, you'll see that he shoots with his right.
