Anyway, I get the obsession with tall 3pt specialists but McAndrew looks years away from being ready for the league. He needs to bulk up.

He's not that skinny. He's probably arriving with a good 15-20 pounds on Mason after the latter has already had three years in the program under his belt.

People are very high on him. I'm not sure based solely on competition for playing time and shot attempts that he'll be able to secure a big enough role to go one-and-done, but any more than two years for him would probably mean his development hasn't gone the way many expected.

Not sure why we obsess over dude’s bulking up. Jackson is 6’9 215. Cooper Flagg is 6’8 205 and going #1 overall next year.

Offseason bracketology. Not much new of course and all speculation. Jays as a 4-seed. Could possibly go up against all 4 preseason #1s (KU, UConn, Bama, Houston).

A&M - possible 2nd round opponent also a 4-seed. 3 things to note:
1. With Pac12 done that brings 1 more at-large to the field
2. Barttorvik is on the committee list as a ranking now.
3. Record vs bubble teams on there too (wins vs what an expected #40 NET team would get with your schedule.

Bring starting lineup projection over from the recruiting page where someone had Knox as the projected SG with Pop coming off the bench as 2nd string PG.
We have to assume the starting 5 will be Splashworth, Pop, Neal, Kalk and then the 4 will be fought for between Green, Mason and Jackson , right?

Best to just ignore what Gtmo says.

Correct.

That seems to be the consensus.

I would add that Traudt is not the favorite at the 4 but don’t count him completely out. Apparently, he has dropped a few pounds and is moving better. Also, Mason will be recovering from injury at the beginning of the season. Lots of talent.

Would be an amazing luxury to have a second unit that doesn’t drop off much if at all from the 1st unit. A fun season would ensue I’m quite sure from 9+ quality players to mix and match.

Mac has never really went beyond 7-8 guys so I just don’t see us going to 9+ this year. At the same time, it is going to be hard to keep everyone happy with playing time. Would stink to lose a freshman from this year’s class due to playing time.

I keep hearing this argument so went back to an older media guide picking the 19-20 with stats for the 18-19 season and see that 10 guys averaged 8.9 minutes or more; 11 if you count Jacob Epperson’s 9.1 minutes per in only 9 games.

Bishop 8.9 in 28 games
Froling 8.9 in 30 games
Cashaw 11.2 in 33 games
Joseph 15.7 in 35 games
Jefferson 18.0 in 26 games
Krampelj 25.3 in 35 games
Zegarowski 28.6 in 33 games
Mintz 28.8 in 35 games
Alexander 32.9 in 34 games
Ballock 33.0 in 35 games

If guys can ball they will play.

This was before open portal too. So I would hope that Mac's bench management has this somewhat in mind (behind winning games of course).

My fear is that we have such a tough non con - that he'll be all in on starters from the jump and it will hinder bench guys development again.
