Odom is actually a pretty good name. He needs to have a solid tourney run I'd think to make list

Jon Rothstein suggested (on X) that Bryce Hopkins should be in the mix for BE preseason POY if healthy.

It got me thinking.

I think Kalk deserves BE POY

It’s hard to evaluate the new guys coming in to the league but nevertheless here is my preseason first team:
Kalk
Kadary Richmond SJU
Kam Jones MU
Alex Karaban U Conn
Eric Dixon Nova
Bryce Hopkins PC

Who did I miss? It will be interesting to see how good Freemantle is this year. I’m hoping Pop Isaacs will be first or second team by the end of the year.

I realize it is way early but two questions:

1. How long is it going to take Cooley to realize he MAY have made a mistake?
2. Will the boosters realize it before him?

fwiw, 5 BE wins would surpass Georgetown's total of the last 3 years combined.

Cooley is obviously a good coach

But is Gtown a lost cause and cautionary tale?

What is wrong there that even EC can't get it going?

This year is pretty pivotal.

Well it looks like you get a Phil Knight and buy a championship or even just respectability. Start your charts showing most wins per $1000 of NIL money

This is a pretty decent dive into the various transfers coming into the league next year.

Interesting stuff there. Cooley knows how to coach and knows how to recruit. I might disagree with the idea that he's going to turn them back into a national power like UConn is now or that GT was under Thompson, though. I'm still not convinced that Cooley's style will get him enough stars or that it will consistently translate to top 10 type play on a national level, but to be fair, I think some weren't convinced that Mac was capable of that kind of program either, and we seem to be on that trajectory now

It's still a bit disturbing to see a Cooley coached team that played as poorly on the defensive end as GT did last year. That was ugly
