The sunshine and generally warm weather are nice in Las Vegas for a good chunk of the year.

In the summer, it’s a Mecca for AAU hoops. Lots of cheap rooms available in the summer when it’s 110 degrees. I’ve seen Mac and other famous coaches there too. You also see a disproportionate number of 6’8”+ high schoolers walking around town.

331 and 324 in last season's final NET. UTRGV was 4-25 last year.

Now that we're finally crossing paths with the Fightin' Dicks, I looked up Fairleigh Dickinson. I figured I'd get to the bottom of who this guy actually was. I always assumed he must have been some obscure signer of the Declaration of Independence. One of those lesser-known patriots who became part of the fabric of our Republic as he risked his life to stand up to the Brits. Well, no.

In fact, he was a bank president in New Jersey back in the 1920's. He also ran the local Rotary. The Depression must have been very, very good to FairDick because he ended up becoming rich enough to start up his own college.

They were only the 2nd 16 seed to knock off a #1 (Purdue just over a year ago). They were also the shortest team in college hoops that year. (6'1" average). I hope for their sake they recruited a rim protector since then. Somebody 6'3', maybe 6' 4".

Looks like this to date:

11/6: UT Rio Grande Valley
11/10: Fairleigh Dickinson
11/16: Kansas City
11/22: Nebraska
11/26: Oregon (Las Vegas)
11/27: San Diego State/Texas A&M (Las Vegas)
11/29: TBA (Las Vegas)
12/4: Kansas
12/14: at Alabama
TBA: UNLV

Almost assuredly a cupcake in December to complete.

232 NET last season. Maybe not a full-blown cupcake. More like a sesame bagel. With apple butter. No, nutella.
