It would have almost certainly made the road to the BE title easier, but it's good for the BE as a conference to have Hurley there. While there are lots of rationalizations, the BE hasn't shown itself to have much clout the last year, and without Hurley there, it would only get worse

Apparently (from Twitter), Kaluma is passing on Memphis and visiting Nova.

We all know that Twitter is never wrong.

How do you think fans would react if he came to town in an opponent's jersey? Was somewhat polarizing of a player with fans already.

Hard to say. Probably mixed

Although, I’d like to think CU fans try to be classy.

Had been rumblings about this possibility when CU was still recruiting him so no great surprise here. I hope Kalk schools him good.

Shame

Sort of a nothing is happening right now question.

Does anyone think Neptune at Nova is going to survive this season? Nova is the historical plumb job along with Georgetown. And while hiring Cooley wasn't expected as a hire, hard to argue that he wasn't a successful accomplished candidate and worthy of that job.

I can't think of anyone with Nova ties that will be in their list. Nor any obvious guys with the record to make their shortlist.

I'm trying to think mostly of East Coasters as that makes most sense.

So maybe they do an out of left field guy like UCLA did with Cronin. And that's tougher to speculate.

I do know that I want VU to be successful as that's good for the league.

I predict more of same from 'Nova. They will have an 8-10 game stretch where they look like world beaters but then inconsistent and head-scratching the rest of the season. And then Neptune gets canned when they miss the NCAAs again.

A name from a while back - Billy Lange at St. Josephs. Lange seems to be putting a program together at St. Joes, but didn't do well at Navy (not that anyone can without a Robinson falling into that roster)

My guess is they'd want a bigger name and/or up and coming guy - maybe like a Ryan Odom (although he's only one year in at VCU, but Nova's definitely a better job)

I think that if Neptune isn't the guy they'd want to spend the money to keep up in the BE and not take many risks, so maybe a guy like Odom would still be seen as too risky
