I know CU is the host institution for the CWS, but is it crazy to say we need to have a conversation about the ROI of that program?

For sure. They never seemed to promote the games well. There was also never any transportation from campus to the field when I attended CU (which kinda sucked for people living on the west side of campus). Hopefully, the new on-campus field will change things. I would love a "Bob Gibson Field."

New field will be where Mystery Manor used to be, right next door to DJ Sokol, should be an easy walk down the mall for any on campus student to get to the games.

This is all why I said this needed to be done during the season with 3 weeks left or even at the end of the season just let him go.

I'll admit, I'm much more detached from CU Athletics recently, but I thought that Connor was the obvious successor.

This must mean that Marcus has a different vision for the next HC. I'm having a hard time seeing a sitting HC coming in with Ed leading the program next year. Even if it is his "swan song". Either CU Admin gambled on Connor sitting around for another year, or they have another guy waiting in the wins.

My gut tells me it's the former, but I am hoping I'm wrong.

Edit: I don't know how to embed a tweet/post so I'll just put the link here:

Two Asst. Coaches gone coming off the heels of this season is tough. Connor Gandossy and Cam Johnson. All that remains is Mitch Moorman, the pitching coach.

What a cluster-f***. If this is what we can expect from Blossom on major hires over the coming years athletics may be in big trouble.

He already hired two new HCs in women's soccer and softball. Now he's tasked with baseball and eventually men's basketball. By then, we will see the direction of the athletic program.

I must admit I don't understand the bad thoughts here. The AD has not made a hire that I can see, he didn't sign up the asst coach who helped make the team not NCAA eligible as the head coach in waiting. Some players bolted, which these days they do. He may have missed out on the next Jim Hendry by not promoting from within, but until he makes his hire, why would we say he has made the program worse?
So many posters have asked for Ed to move on. He accomplished that with grace. Now he needs to find someone to right a ship going mostly in the correct direction. Well that is what ADs do. He has been mostly successful with that. I think we have plenty of time to question his hire. Here's hoping he can find a hire who can advance us on to the next level. I doubt he can coach as well as Ed, but I bet he can manage better than Ed did
