Still have to think we will bring in 2ish transfers after the season.

As of today, the Jays have 14 scholarship players for next year if everyone eligible returns. Both Trey and Kalk have one year of eligibility left and NIL could make a difference in their decision. I would hate to have our numbers at 15-16 and have to cut 2-3 players to get to the limit of 13.
I do think some of the 14 will transfer or turn pro but I hope it is their decision and not being cut from the team.

Scholarship numbers are becoming a facade with NIL.

Highly unlikely that Trey comes back unless he just implodes the rest of the season. Kalk may come back but if that happens, we will most likely lose King. We might just lose King anyways. That puts you at 12 and then we will have a massive log jam at the 4 spot with Miller, Traudt, Green & McAndrews. I could see Green moving to a mid major level to get more playing time. Bottom line is that we will have massive minutes available at the 2 & the 3 in a historically fun perimeter offense with good to great NIL resources for a top 25 program. We cut 1-2 guys every year that we don't think are going to play many minutes.

Won’t Miller play the 3 next year? Obviously, he needs to improve his ball handling. Also, won’t McAndrews see time at the 3?

McDermott usually has a 1-3 capable of initiating offense. I don't see either Miller or McAndrew being able to handle the ball well enough on the perimeter to play the 3 for prolonged stretches. Everyone has a tendency to kind of project guys out to where their NBA position would be but I would think teams would just absolutely heat us up on defense more than they already to with those 2 plus Kalk on the floor.

I almost don’t want to express this thought and put it out into the universe, but against better judgment, here it goes. Could there be any fear that we lose anyone in this class because of Jalen Courtney-Williams’ departure? Just made myself nauseous asking, but we’ve seen this in college basketball. Do we know if JCW was the primary recruiter for any of our new guys and this might be a possibility? Please say no.
