Ashworth was interviewed at today's press conference (Matt Sottile of KETV has the video). Steven said he is considering coming back (not definite). He and his wife like Omaha. He hasn't graduated yet so he "doesn't feel like a senior." My impression is he is coming back (otherwise he'd walk). But, he is probably keeping his options in case Mac leaves.

It’s entirely possible Mac didn’t want the distraction down the stretch. Maybe it comes out this week or before BET now that we have a few extra down days this week. Or, his agent might be telling him to hold off.

He certainly didn’t want the distraction before the Marquette game, or to interfere with Senior Day.

After 10 straight losing seasons in NEC play, this season was guaranteed to go down as a milestone campaign for Central Connecticut State, regardless of what happened Saturday. But after CCSU's 79-67 win over Stonehill and Merrimack's 89-85 loss to Sacred Heart, it's officially a banner season for the Blue Devils. The results gave CCSU a share of the NEC title and the No. 1 seed in the upcoming conference tournament. The end of the season senior speeches with all of them talking about how much Coach Mac cared for them and how much they cared for Coach Mac seemed very genuine. Just another reason to want to keep the man here.

Coach Mac bringing Jack to the game (a 12 year old who is fighting an undisclosed but serious illness) was very emotional and a great reminder of the big picture. I loved it and hope for the best for the young man. I’m glad he got the game ball and I hope it lifted his spirits.
