Steven Ashworth visiting Creighton Friday! When I watch him run the Pick and Roll in his clips, I just imagine what he can do with Kalk in Mac's system!

Looks great on the ball-screen and DHO action. Sweet stroke from 3 and good range too, by the looks of it. I know highlights are highlights, but really looks like he would fit in well in our half-court sets. Not sure how he is in pushing pace and defensively (just saw offense clips).

didn't find much on defense other than he led the team in steals and they were OK in adjusted D (98.0 for 65th rank on Bartorvik, they were 19th at 115.4 in adjusted O -- by comparison we were 115.0 for 21st in offense, 93.2 for 15th in adjusted D). My guess is he isn't a lockdown guy as a defender, but is probably OK

from this clip you see him jumping some passing lanes and finding some loose balls.

In terms of pace, Bartorvik had them 104th in adjusted Tempo at 68.6, while we were 151st at 67.7 last year

I don't think he'll have any issues fitting in with our pace. Defensively, I'd just hope for a wash with what Nembhard brought last year

He did have 2 years at a mission, so he's a mature guy, and he's married already as well. And it sounds like he formed an NIL company a while back, so he's a CEO as well ;)

He reminds me of a smaller sized Steve Nash. Looks like a perfect fit for the Jays.

Ashworth seems to have improved his shooting percentage over prior year, which is good. Relatively inconsistent from game to game, if you look at game by game stats, so fits right in  Excellent free throw shooter. Good assist to TO ratio. On the basis of the limited clips, appears to have great precision on his passes. Less than two TOs per game for someone playing 33 minutes per game with the ball in his hands a lot is excellent. Appears to dribble and move with a purpose, knowing what he intends to do rather than just probing for something. IMO, if we get him, it appears to be a decent trade off. Certainly doesn’t appear to leave us in worse position if he can jell with the others.

Not that my opinion matters, but he was the top of my list of the PG's we seemed to be focused on. Maybe not as high of a ceiling as Armstrong, but high floor and pretty high ceiling anyway.

Hard to compare guys to NBA players, but the Nash one fits in some ways - when I was looking at Ashworth, I thought he was a quintessential moneyball player - a guy whose efficiency and stats are amazing, even if you don't realize just how good the guy was until you look again. Best player in his conference, IMO, and offensively a top 20/25 guy in college ball last year as well..

Oh, and a perfect fit for us

sounds like Rohde will be on a visit with Ashworth tomorrow.

Would love to have both of those guys on the roster next year. Ashworth a perfect PG for our system, and Rohde, IMO, is a young Baylor type player

On Nick Bahe’s latest podcast, he said Ashworth hit 111 3s last season. Which if he would have done at Creighton would have been 2nd all time in our programs history. Only player with more in a single season was Kyle Korver (129 on 269 attempts)

Pick and Roll with Ashworth and Kalk. How exactly to defend?

Hoping that we get to see other teams try.
