On Piv's chat today, he said that this years game with North Texas is a buy game, but that a H/H series will be played in the future with the Jays going to North Texas in 2014 and then back in Omaha in 2015. Looking at the schedule and how it is shaping up so far, the 2014-15 season to me looks like they have the road games pretty much locked up and I can't see them going on the road anymore that season.

@ North Texas
@ Tulsa
@ St. Joes
@ Loyola-Chicago.

Could they really afford to hit the road more? No home games on the slate yet. I know it is early and things can change, but just interesting to note.

Since we've stickied this thread, I thought I'd put this here as a handy reference in advance of the BracketBuster pairings announcement since that always seems to be a big discussion as it gets closer. Here's ESPN's official press release, along with the complete list of home/road teams:

What a depressing field. Belmont is now a part, but they don't remotely make up for the loss of the CAA, Butler, Nevada, and our old Bracket Buster foe Fresno State. And, even with those squads, it was terrible. I'll be upset if San Diego State refuses to play once they're in the Big West, like BYU and Gonzaga from the WCC. If we end up having the year we're supposed to have, and ESPN cannot add some more quality to the event or give us more ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU games, we need to join those abstaining teams next year and beyond.

Looking at the possibilities, we'll likely go to St. Mary's, Murray State, Davidson, Valpo, or Belmont this year (I guess Davidson and Murray State get to be home teams again in order to have some home and away balance- thanks for choosing them over us, ESPN), I would think. Solid programs, but barring a Murray State-like run by one of them, there is not much for us to gain by playing that game.

Here's confirmation of the Jays participating in the Hall of Fame Classic in the 2014 season with Notre Dame, Florida State and UMass.

So Vegas this year, Anaheim next year and Connecticut in 2014.

Eh, Connecticut, kind of bori OOOOO CASINO.

Wildjays -- we wanted to ask Ras on the show but couldn't get to it. Any additional word on teams in the Anaheim Classic? I think last we knew it was Creighton, San Diego State, Marquette. (Solid field already.)

I haven't been able to find anything else so far. The only thing I know is based on past fields, there is usually a team from the Big West since they host the tourney. I assume that is SDSU since they will be in the Big West for hoops next season. Then a team from the Big East (Marquette), the Pac-12, Big 12, ACC and two others TBA. They have pulled from the Mountain West (which I think SDSU was originally) in the past too. It will likely be announced sometime next week when they play this year's tournament. That is usually when those fields are announced.

Here's a quick who I know won't be in it either because of other commits or because they have played in it already in the past four seasons.

Pac-12--Stanford, Cal, Washington State
Big 12--Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Kansas St. (Puerto Rico), Nebraska (Charleston), West Virginia
ACC--Virginia Tech, Boston College, Duke (other commits), North Carolina (other commits), Georgia Tech, Clemson

Not much help, but it at least narrows it down.
