Trentyn Flowers was able to experience an amazing performance in a great atmosphere. You vaguely hear Creighton's name mentioned with other 2024 recruits, but nothing where fans are saying "this could be our guy." I hope Trentyn becomes that if he hasn't already.

Where else is Creighton focusing? Could you even say that 2023-2024 is less of a priority than 2024-2025, or is that type of thinking not allowed in today's landscape?

Recruiting to Creighton for the 2023-2024 season has to be a challenge. I'm going to discount any of our core entering the portal because my fragile emotional state couldn't handle that. But even putting that aside (naively?), what are Arthur, Kalk and Trey going to do?

It's a convincing selling point to wing players/shooters saying, "Come in and replace Baylor." Trentyn, table for one. But for all other Top 100's who want immediate playing time, what's the selling point if Art, Kalk and Trey all return? And with that uncertainty, does that put CU behind the 8-ball a bit? And is this just how it works these days and we have to deal with it? And because our bench is such a weakness, is that part of the pitch? Does that work for top guys? Is Mason billed to step in for Baylor? Are JC, Ben, Jaysen it? If the core all come back, are we better served focusing on the transfer portal like we've done so effectively with Hawk and Baylor? Do I ask too many questions?

Even going back 10 years, recruiting had to be so much easier. I don't envy coaches today.

Thus ends my stream of consciousness post about the Class of 2024.

We still have another season before 2024 guys hit campuses, so worrying right now about selling playing time or what roles might be available is silly. We have no idea what the roster is even going to look like next season, let alone the season after that.
