Yes, he chose to walk on at Creighton over scholarships from other schools. But that is pretty rare. If Creighton were to add two new commitments I'd just assume someone else would be leaving. It's a nice idea because fans don't want to see anybody go, but I'd have to think a departure is more likely than having someone voluntarily give up their scholarship to add someone else to the roster.

Kreklow, Groselle, and Doug are all recent examples of start as walk-ons. Doug/Coach actually did pay Doug's way, as the Tuition Remission is considered countable athletic aid until a coach is at an institution for 5 years.

Groselle was a Grad student and received funding for being a GA in the classroom, I believe.

Kreklow committed knowing that he would have to pay his own way.

Agree, it's very unlikely we'd see someone going off scholarship to stay or that a highly recruited transfer would come in as a walk-on.

That said, the NIL world may end up changing that dynamic, but we'll see how high the dollar amounts get there
