To be fair Mason would be a bit different situation.

#1...its his uncle, not his dad, so the family tuition thing wouldn't exist (not sure that would fly anyway with NCAA rules)

#2...In Doug's case he was already a starter and we weren't making room for someone who would compete with him for minutes. In Mason's case, Baylor could very well be the person who Mason has to come off the bench to spell were we to land him. Not sure the Miller family would be too happy about that, but maybe playing for championships as a team is more important than individual stuff for him. Who knows.

I’m saying his dad is loaded. They don’t need any discounts if they were ever to have Mason pay his own way. His dad is loaded, his uncle has money and works for the university. There’s plenty of ways to do it

Understood, and I'm not disagreeing with you. My bigger concern would be point 2. Landing Baylor most likely leads to less minutes for Mason. Would they want to give up a scholarship if the direct result is less minutes? How altruistic would they be willing to be? I would love nothing more than to go into next season with all of our current commits and players PLUS both King and Baylor. We would be built for a FF run and possible championship aspirations in that scenario.

Yeah, I do think the issue is more of masons minutes as well. The staff apparently loves him at the “3”, and I’m sure that’s right where Baylor would slot for us especially in the starting lineup. But I’m sure Baylor and Mason could play the 3/4 interchangeably

It's all hypotheticals, but Baylor's only here a year if it happened anyway. Mason would almost certainly start his RS-Sophomore year with the assumed exodus of Art and Trey.

Hopefully, Mac is interested in having a more dispersed rotation if he has the talent (deep bench). It’s hard to win the BET, for example, when you have a short rotation like we did last year. (And, obviously injuries inevitably take a toll like the last few years)

I would think the Millers would support an 8 or 9 man rotation as long as Mason could earn 20+ minutes. I think you could get there with Mason playing both the 3 and 4.

The Millers strike me as competitors, first and foremost, I can't see them being against bringing in a player who would raise the level of the team and provide Mason with a challenge in practice day in and day out.

This may be an option. Might not. We don't know other families' specific financial situations. Love how everyone is quick to spend someone else's money.
