Regarding Baylor. The exact quote in OWH article:
Scheierman said he’s heard from a few schools that want him to handle the ball less. They aren’t the ones that will make his final list.
“I feel like my passing ability and my ability to read the defense is what makes me unique,” Scheierman said. I wouldn't want to sacrifice those parts of my game. Ultimately, I'd like a similar role to what I had (at South Dakota State), just at a higher level.”
I would advise people to watch a game from this season in its entirety and tell me why he couldn't fit into our starting 5 without sacrificing minutes for Trey/R2/Art/Kalk. In my opinion he is the perfect compliment to that lineup. He never says he wants to be a PG. Nowhere in the article are the words point guard used. He wasn't truly a point guard at SDSU either. He rarely brought the ball up the floor in the full court. He does distribute exceptionally well and can shoot the lights out of the ball. Maybe its wishful thinking on my part, but I don't get people being dismissive about either a) his ability to contribute here or b) how everyone else would get their minutes.
A backup to Kalk (King) and Baylor would make us serious contenders for a national championship next season, and I'm usually the most pessimistic person that I know. The question is where we get the other scholarship to land them both.
