As some have said, there's a case to be made for bringing in a high-level transfer to take AO's spot, but that would mean someone else leaving. Maybe Mac thinks committing to development is a better way for us to compete and also an easier way to maintain the current culture. Add Commitment to Development to Let It Fly in our branding? Modestas left, so it's not like it would be a guarantee to every player that he gets to stay, but there could be an understanding that we're not pushing out 2 or 3 guys every year to bring in transfers.

Nova basically rolls with the players they recruit, so there's a model for it working. On the other hand, Ed Cooley seems to be taking the opposite approach, loading up on transfers while his recruiting classes have dropped off.

Just an idle thought while waiting for the next F to drop.

Creighton has apparently reached out to a ton of guys who have entered the portal, so I doubt it's a case where they've actively decided not to take someone of that caliber. They just seemingly haven't found someone who's both really interested and fits what they need.

Creighton is clearly invested in development and the staff is high on the core of their team. They're not going to go and try to recruit a transfer to start in front of any of the guys who have clearly earned a big role (Nembhard, Alexander, Kaluma, Kalkbrenner). Everybody else is still in prove-it mode to varying degrees. If they feel like they can make a move that pushes them over the top, they kind of have to go for it. I don't think they're trying to run anybody out of town or anything like that, but attrition happens for many different reasons at different points in the offseason.

If both that last tweet and this tweet are accurate, that would leave Illinois, Creighton, Seton Hall, and Xavier

It ain't happening, but count me as one who would take a chance on Emoni despite reports of off-the-court concerns. CU needs a bucket-getter. There probably isn't a better one available. If he truly wants to be a part of a culture and buys in, it's an easy roll of the dice from my no-consequences seat in front of a laptop drinking Dr. Pepper and eating leftover Easter candy. That's right - I'm willing to risk it all.

(Repeat: it ain't happening)
