Very surprised that no one has yet started a thread on Fredrick. Especially given that the staff is seemingly all-in on him.

Would be a tremendous addition to the team. Fingers crossed that he ends up a Bluejay.

Seems like he would be a great add. Who else is after him now? I assume Georgetown is still interested, and they seem to have lost half their team again to the portal. Ewing could promise he would start, whereas at CU he would be coming off bench, even if significant minutes. And if Miami is still interested, that sure is a lot closer to home, and the weather he is used to. I hope we get him, but these seem to be the factors to worry about.

A few reasons to hope with him:

1. He'll only be 17 when he gets to college so he may not be in a huge hurry to start, and a year of quality S&C and playing a big, but not starting role in the BE could really prime him for a second year jump
2. He does need to develop. He's a guy who can run the floor and play as a skilled big, but he hasn't played basketball for that long (and Mac's shown a great track record of knowing how to develop big guys within his system)
3. I don't think his physical skills necessarily point to playing the kind of post game that Ewing had with Wahib, for instance

We'll see, but it sounds like we were also pretty early in recruiting him and the fit seems to make a lot of sense for us and for him

The thing that really seems to set Mac apart from other coaches at this level is that he really seems to understand and can evaluate what any particular big has in their "game".... and he has the savvy to know how to get the most out of them by setting up his offense and defense to take advantage of whatever skillset they bring to the table.

E.G Patton, Krampl, Bishop, Kalkbrenner... Yes, there are similarities, but also some differences as well. But they all showed well when called upon because he understood how to showcase their particular skillset.

As a big man, you'd be silly not to look at Mac as possibly the best situation for ANY big out there... whatever their skill set might be.

...more on King... He looks to be a real steal...and the real deal as well.

Although he is unranked by any of the major recruiting sites, this is mostly due to lack of knowledge or game film of the international standout while his reputation among scouts at both the collegiate and NBA level is rock solid as a future building block for a program or team.
