NIL question - why can’t someone (don’t think the school can be involved) get one of our scholarship guys an NIL deal to go off scholarship but still be in the same position financially. Reef gets a $50k NIL deal from Big Fred’s, gives up his schollie and we sign someone else? Just curious.

What would be in it for the player? Why would he give up his scholarship for an NIL deal instead of just looking for one on top of not having to pay for school?

I heard from a reliable source that Mason Miller loves Rice Bowl and was going to line up an NIL deal in the 6 figures and give up his scholarship as a result.
