keep an eye on Alabama transfer Alex Tchikou. Canadian found it hard to find time with Tide over last few years but is very talented and plays very similar to Kalkbrenner.

Gershon projected him as a 2nd round pick yet he only played 3 games for the Tide last year? Looks like potential is there backing up Kalk for a year might not be bad option.

good find. Highly rated recruit, Achilles tendon rupture and missed most of freshman year and didn't play much last year. Might be a great developmental big to backup next year and work with Jeremy Anderson and Mac to have a big role the following year

I assume we reach out to Cottrell as well. Starter for WVU and recruited hard by McDermott and Ryan Miller while he was at TCU.

Had to look a bit, but you mentioned Cottrell quite a while ago. Has a ton of potential and plenty of eligibility left as well. Also had an Achilles injury that he had to recover from.

Cottrell or Tchikou would both be excellent pickups, IMO with the potential to set us up for a starter after Kalkbrenner possibly goes to the NBA

We have reached out to Cam Hayes from NC State. He is a 4-star PG. Interesting that we are pursuing a PG if Reef is staying.

Everyone hopes that Ryan Nembhard comes back 100% from the wrist injury and Shereef stays. But sometimes you can hope in one hand and sh...you know the rest. I like that the coaching staff is looking big picture and doing some planning for the unexpected.

Also, Marcus Zegarowski's twin brother, Max, just entered the transfer portal. 43% 3-point shooter. 6 foot, 6 inches. Hmmm...

Who knows what could even happen if we, say, grayshirted Max Zegarowski? I don’t think anything is off the table at this point. I’m just hoping for limited talent going out and interesting talent coming in.

A grayshirt implies that he will get a scholarship after his first year. Much love to the Zegarowski family, but I'm not certain Max is scholarship-worthy in the Big East. Love to add him as a walk-on, but beyond that I doubt we would have interest.

Check out the Twitter feed @portal_updates

It's dizzying to see how many transfers there are so far.
