I think you're underrating what a guy like that can do for a team. He's a good athlete who fits into a few roles defensively at 6-6. He's also played Wing, but also took over as PG in the past as well.

3PT % has gone up every year to .379 last year, finished at a .513 rate from 2 PT. His Scoring really took off this last year to 17.9/40, while rebounding at 7.9 per 40 w/ a 3.4 to 2.0 turnover ratio. I think we've seen that we can always use more ballhandlers on the roster this year, and having another guy like Alexander who can pass and get to the basket is an important addition, especially with Kalkbrenner demanding attention off of the pick and roll.

If the coaches want him and land him, I'd be happy

a bit of Grant Gibbs here - :) :)

His shooting numbers are good but not WOW, 14 points and 7 boards a game at a mid major also good but again not wow. At NDS he was most likely bigger than most of the people he played against, that would not be the case in the BE. I am not saying he is a bad player and if we do get him I hope he makes me look like a fool, I’m just saying I think we can get better.

I agree with you Bennington but with one slight modification: bring in ANOTHER impact big man.

Griesel sounds like he wants to go to UNL, although he also says he wants to win:

His last quote made it sound like he already decided he’s going there. Also, why do kids always bring up that Hoiberg has NBA experience? Honest question, what’s the benefit of that? Coaching in the NBA and college are completely different. And didn’t he lose a lot in the NBA, anyways?

My interpretation of that kind of comment is "he can teach me what i need to know to get there" which is, of course, silly.

At this point, that has to be Fred's #1 recruiting pitch, though, right? I mean, he can't sell any kind of success at Nebraska, can't sell postseason possibilities, can't really sell much of his own success as a coach for the last decade or more. So "I coached in the NBA for a bit" has to be about his main thing. That and "you get to watch home football games -- they also suck, but some good teams come here to beat them."

It definitely is. Every kid they are recruiting says it.

Quit thinking small. This will be a pre-season top 10 team. We will sign a high major NBA caliber transfer.
