Sam Griesel in portal. From Lincoln. We pursued him late his senior year. But, he stayed with his commitment to ND State..

Sam is going to strongly weigh professional opportunities as well, but he's going to have a lot of options to consider if he wants to use that extra season of eligibility. Made a big leap from his junior season.

Well if he decides to stay in college and stay close to home one year I like our pitch of going to the tourney for your last year. Compared to Nebraska’s of waste a year you could’ve been playing professionally.

I assume we reach out to Cottrell as well. Starter for WVU and recruited hard by McDermott and Ryan Miller while he was at TCU.

No offense to Sam, but I won’t be excited if we get him. IMO we can do better.

I think you're underrating what a guy like that can do for a team. He's a good athlete who fits into a few roles defensively at 6-6. He's also played Wing, but also took over as PG in the past as well.

3PT % has gone up every year to .379 last year, finished at a .513 rate from 2 PT. His Scoring really took off this last year to 17.9/40, while rebounding at 7.9 per 40 w/ a 3.4 to 2.0 turnover ratio. I think we've seen that we can always use more ballhandlers on the roster this year, and having another guy like Alexander who can pass and get to the basket is an important addition, especially with Kalkbrenner demanding attention off of the pick and roll.

If the coaches want him and land him, I'd be happy
