Former CSU Bakersfield G Taze Moore, who entered the transfer portal on March 24th, has informed me of his Top 4 schools. He will commit tomorrow. His Top 4? Creighton, Houston, Arkansas, & Ball State.

Stats: 12 PPG, 4 REB, 2.7 Assists, 1.2 Steals
Shot 51% from three-point range (only 19 made 3's, so not volume)

If the tweet is correct, we should hear today. I believe he has one year of eligibility.

No idea if Waybright has any credibility. Not many followers, but has a blog (so does gtmo) and seems to take himself seriously. He was one of the first to announce Taze Moore entered the portal and focuses his opinions on Bakersfield sports, so I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt.

My opinion: yeah, Marcus matters a lot. Any transfer leaving another program wants immediate minutes, and a lot of them. The non-Marcus guards CU has aren't that experienced or proven. You can even say that about Shereef, so transfers may think, "I can go in there and get those guard minutes against THAT competition." But if an established, pre-season All American candidate who plays most of the 40 minutes of a game is part of the equation, that is quite a bit less playing time for guards.

Any transfer looking for guard minutes at Creighton is factoring in Marcus' situation considerably, IMO.

Maybe, but at best he’s now just a fill in for the assistant that was actually recruiting a kid. Not a reasonable likelihood of success under that scenario.

I never said it was better, just stating that Merfeld steps into a recruiting role in the interim per NCAA rules. We should have at least one hire this week is my bet...
