Did you read the Josh Jones article?!? However, as some others have said and I've thought before since this incident, I am not sure he survives this after the season as that one mistake of 25+ years of coaching with his terrible choice of words could really negatively impact his ability to recruit as recruits don't know him like those who've known him for years might not be able to look past it.

Really? What if that phrase came out of Fred Hoibergs mouth? How would that change the way you view him? Who cares what you and I think? It doesnt matter. It is all about what other people think. Recruits, the parents and family of those recruits, the coaches of those recruits, the friends of those recruits. Not only recruits, but opposing coaches recruiting against him, media, fans and joe blow down the street. Basically everyone. He cant un-say what he said. He will forever be known as the guy that said "stay on the plantation" in the locker room. Wait till the off season, he will be know as "dead man walking".
Maybe he can find a way to hang around. Having the whitest team in the country worked out pretty well for the 1970-1980s Celtics. It seems to work okay for BYU. Christ, what a mess.

Call me an awful fan, but I don't see a team, without Marcus, made up of AoC, Antwann, Ryan, Reef, and CB, plus all the young guys doing much next season and I sure as hell don't see the 22-23 team doing well unless we bring in some top level transfers or instant impact freshmen. And this is assuming that everyone already on the team stays, which is not guaranteed.

We might be just as well bringing in a new head coach and blowing it all up now anyways

Is there any non-trivial possibility that TyTy will re-commit to CU? Sorry for the stupid question, but I stopped following recruiting years ago for the sake of my mental and emotional health....

Imagine you're engaged to another person to be married. They call off the engagement a few months before you walk down the aisle. How often do you think they still end up getting married? And if they do, how long do you think that marriage will last?

Trifecta...Call it! There is only one way out of this scenario...Winning!

Okay, yeah, welllll- Mac was cleaning his rifle and shot himself in the foot? Stuff happens. However, Tyty decommitting
is not unexpected -regardless if Mac shot himself - or not!.

The young man has been grossly underevaluated, underappreciated, and underranked...for the last 1-2 years. Tyty was viciously
snubbed by @McDaag and @SI (Sports Illustrated AA team). He knows it. His Dad definitely knows it. His coaches know it.
He and his team have been reconsidering their options - especially in light of his sterling play, at the highest HS levels, these last
3-4 months. Team Washington was/has been looking for an opportunity to "re-assess" their position and Mac gave them one.

This should not be a surprise.

Solution: Put a tourniquet on that wound, cinch it up tightly, and do a Willis Reed - Limp out on the court...and Win.
Whether Mac (this year) or whomever (possibly next year) "git" your butt out on the court and WIN! At this juncture winning is
the only solution to help Lil' Creighton. Win now, win in the NCAA this year, and continue winning next season - to help put this sh_t
in our rearview mirror.

Work like hell to keep Mason, John, and Ryan. Work like hell to land Hunter. Work like hell in 2022...and keep winning!

Well said GTMO. I am sure Mac's comments didn't help. But, TyTy's stock has risen A LOT recently, and I am sure he will have many more opportunities than he had before. We don't know if he de-committed due to Mac's comments, better opportunities, or both.

This also proves something that has been pointed out before. But, you can't assess what is going on with a high school or college player via Twitter posts or likes by the kid or a parent. This weekend, Twitter activity suggested TyTy would stay with CU (or least there was a good chance). Even so called recruiting gurus were suggesting his commitment was still firm. You can't make any predictions on Twitter activity. Nor do I think it makes any difference when fans tweet at a player telling them how good they are, saying "C'mon, Be a Jay," or pointing out how well they would work in CU's system. Those "encouragement" posts mean absolutely nothing.

Imagine if the Jays had beaten Xavier. This NEVER happens...cu wins the BE and we are wondering about a 3 seed or maybe even a 2.

Drag.

It is well known that I was not the biggest Coach Mac fan...prior to his finally winning the Big East last season. Now, that he finally won a
regular season championship - I got on the bus.

It is well known that I thought he was grossly underachieving over his 10 year Plus tenure. His winning the championship last season has a lot
of mileage...and the woulda, coulda of a cancelled NCAA Tourney to boot. While the example has bad optics, especially from the team perspective
as well as the public perspective - to hell with the cancel culture. Mac has an exemplary record - from his work for the poor, work for cancer treatment, socially,
as well as his coaching tenure.

Is now the time for a regime change? NO. Hell NO. Now is not the time to abandon ship. Stay the course...steady as she goes (nautical phraseology). I am an ancient Mariner, after all.

I am surprised that so many loyal creightonians/creightonites on this board suddenly think Mac should go (whether fired or resign). Where is all the loyalty you've shown in the past? I suppose it's just "fair weather feathers" showing?

Mac and CU need to redouble their efforts for the poor, racial equity, and improving the social fabric - locally and beyond. CU's Office of Institutional Diversity
and Inclusion and the new Black Advisory Group need to hit the ground running with new programs, new forums and panels, new work and financial initiatives
to support or supplant existing programs. Funny it takes a situation such as this to light a fire under folks, but "it is what it is".

"Git" to work.
