I was naive as to how easy it is to influence these AAU coaches or should I say how easy it is for those coaches to pad their bank account.

couple of years ago UConn got in trouble for scheduling a preseason body bag game with a team that had an AAU coach connection for a kid they were recruiting.

so - they were able to receive "buy game" money - which went directly to that coach and you can bet your ass some went to the kid.

recruiting is a cesspool - but only because - shitbag coaches like Calhoun - and others have allowed and encouraged it.

college football isn't nearly as bad - unfortunately it might be headed that way.

If Vitale really cared he would name names. Or at least programs. A 'basketball czar' would only work if people ratted them out. Vitale knows the phone number of the NCAA. You can bet when Kelvin Sampson was caught with his phone down, coaches changed their mode of recruiting. ESPN also rewards these team who cheat.
