Only weakness is that he's not really a threat from distance.

Given who we have eligible next year, I just didn't think he was someone we'd check in with as a transfer. But, he's perfect for what Hoiberg needs right now. They're desperate for some athletic wings who are ready to play in the B10 and King can play

He’s an okay player. As someone who follows Wisconsin, and has a lot of family up there, the fan base was underwhelmed with his career to this point. He was a 4-star by 247, and had quite the reputation in Wisconsin HS ball, so expectations were relatively high. He hasn’t come close to meeting them. He’s athletic, but as someone else mentioned, he can’t really shoot (only 25% from 3 this year as a junior). When you’re only 6’3”, that’s a problem, and it certainly wouldn’t fit in our system.

Sounds like there’s an academic hurdle to overcome that could prevent him from playing anywhere D1 next year.

It’s all relative. If Kobe ends up transferring to the Washington Generals, he missed out on some winning.
