I just saw that. We have a spot now. He can sure run the court. Go Jays!

Would he be competing with CB for time?

Yeah. And Epperson, and Kalkbrenner, I would imagine.

Don't think CU would be an attractive pick for him.

Three deep right now at the 5. Epperson is a question mark with his health. Think we would all love to see CB at the 4 but until he can shoot it better he’s a 5. Excelled at the 5 as well.

Anei is getting a waiver for sure. Don’t see it

He can be a 4 or a 5, you have Epperson coming off 3 years if injuries and Kalkbrenner is a freshman with 0 experience at the next level. Not a terrible idea to go after him but he is likely not the best system fit without the ability to shoot the 3.

At this point, I don't believe Creighton is going to go after him. He's not any different of a player as he was coming out of high school when CU didn't think he was a good fit for what they do.

Given that he’d be competing with CB, who looked tremendous at the 5 at times, I can’t see this happening.

Good post. We missed on Gach. A pickup of Anei would be a good get. As stated above he can play the 4 or 5, and there are unanswered questions whether Jacob Epperson is ready to play. Both Kalkbrenner and Kancleris are frosh. Additional frontcourt depth is a good thing for the Jays. Anei has played 2 years at Ok State. He's a smart kid and will adapt to our style of play. A good rim protector/shot blocker.

Despite playing just 21.9 minutes per game on average in each of his two seasons at OSU, Anei is an analytics darling viewed as one of the conference's best shot-blockers. As a freshman, he ranked fourth nationally in block percentage and first among Big 12 players in conference play, per KenPom. As a sophomore, he ranked 13th and third in those same categories, respectively.

I just don't see the appeal for us. Doesn't fit our roster and doesn't fit our style.

Conference Per 40 numbers of him and Bishop
Anei: 11.9 pts, 8.0 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 1.2 steals, 3.0 blocks, 3.0 turnovers, 6.6 PFs TW% .454
Bishop: 15.7 pts, 8.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.1 steals, 2.3 blocks, 2.7 turnovers, 5.4 PF's; TS% .605

Anei played well on their non-conference, but when they got to conference play didn't play nearly so well and has never really been a quality scorer and on top of that he's not an effective passer either. He blocks shots, but unless we know that Epperson isn't back, he isn't a roster fit.
