I think part of that is that we're aiming higher and there is more info on recruiting now than ever before

geez - during most of the altman years we had no clue what was going on recruiting wise - and all of a sudden guys would just show up. And some of that wasn't even that long ago - Cavel was just here one day and even people plugged into the program were 'who the hell is this guy?'

overall we've done pretty well with our transfers - KJ probably being the exception - and man did he look great on paper - and was so athletic. He was also one of my favorite interviews - was always really thoughtful and intelligent with his responses. not sure why he couldn't quite put it all together.

other than that - the transfer market has probably been the key during the Mac era to elevating the program - from Gregory to current Denzel and upcoming AJ teams.

I guess I'm separating out the grad vs sit out transfers.

Manny was another reach that didn't really pan out.

6’9 Sophomore F Deandre Williams from Evansville is transferring. Averaged 15.2 and 6.9. Hope we go after him, he’d fit real well

Denzel was an Ohio Valley player. He's working out pretty well.

If he has pro potential then being a MVC player doesn't matter

Didn’t we recruit “Missouri Valley players” that got us to the Big East?

Because there is a difference between having a roster equipped with players that athletically would compete for an MVV championship and a roster with Big East players. Adding the best player from an MVC team to a Big East team makes sense. Having 13 guys not talented enough to play in the Big East does not.
