I thought Purdue did a horrible job of utilizing Haarms. Saw enough of their games to see they just didn’t run enough through him. In my mind, that was a main reason they were headed to the NIT.

All that said, why would Haarms come here? Y’all drinking from gtmo’s cup, sheesh.

I agree it’s ridiculously highly unlikely. But he would be the presumptive starter for a preseason top five team that will be in the final four discussion at the start of next season, which somehow doesn’t seem entirely impossible ...

247 quotes Haarms as saying these are the teams that have so far reached out:

The schools that have reached out are Gonzaga, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Ohio, Illinois State, Louisville Kentucky, Arizona, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Arizona State, Syracuse, DePaul, South Carolina, Boston College, Seton Hall, Wichita State, Cincinnati, Oklahoma State, Washington State, Utah, Oregon State, San Jose State, and Cal State Fullerton.

I normally don't post in the recruiting section (might be my first, actually), but figured there'd be some talk on Haarms.

I've seen Purdue play live about 12-15 times over the last 3 seasons. The reason Purdue didn't play through him is that he's not very strong with the ball. He did shoot a very good percentage for his career (58%) but that dropped to 52% last season. For every time the ball went into him and he scored he would turn around on the next possession and have it stripped away. If the opposition felt it was necessary to double him in the post, it was a near guarantee turnover. For a big man, he does have decent touch from 15 feet and can occasionally knock down a "3" (28%, 18-64 in career). I understand that you can't teach 7'3" but he didn't play like a guy that was 7'3". He only averaged over 5 RPG once in his 3 seasons and that was 5.4 as a sophomore. Add in that based on his demeanor during games (major complainer, bad body language), I'd be very worried as to how he fits in with this group. I'm somewhat relieved to see that Creighton is not on the list of teams that have reached out.

I completely agree vjay. I thought Purdue was better when he was on the bench. Go Jays!

Mac might be content with continuing small ball since it worked so well last year. Wouldnt surprise me if we just stayed with Bishop, Kalk and Epperson at the 5 next year.

Read a Kentucky fan tweet saying Davion may be headed there.

I read it on the Internet so it must be true.

Is that team #4 now? Hope he finds what he is looking for...
