Just saw his tweet. Good deal.

He probably won’t get the minutes he wants here next year, but could still play some on a special team and be a lead guy the following year.

He could be a lead guy right now for a Bama team who could be a 6 seed in the NIT next year.

Nobody has ever asked me to try and convince a recruit to come to Creighton, but if Mr. Primo gave me a call, my sales pitch would be:

- Come be a part of a Top 5 team. You can learn from a group of experienced players who know how to play basketball. Learn how to win.
- You will be given every opportunity to be a rotation player. You'll have to earn your minutes, but you have the skill to force the coach's hand during the lead-up to the 2020-2021 season. I think you can do it. I know we want to reduce our "Big 3's" minutes from 35 to around 30. You can fill those. And if Ty-Shon Alexander leaves, then all of a sudden you could be filling those 30+ minutes.
- Even if your minutes in 2020-2021 aren't as high as they'd be in Alabama, imagine your skillset in our system, running alongside an All-America candidate PG, in 2021-2022. You have the chance to be an All Big East player as a sophomore because of your skills, your experience as a freshman on a winning team, and the trajectory of this program.
- You will love Omaha and Omaha will love you. This is a basketball town. We are the biggest show in the city. At the other possible destination, the average fan would know more about the backup offensive linemen on the football team than they will care about you. (Maybe put that more delicately).
- We need you. We need you as we make a run at a national championship this upcoming season. We need you to keep this momentum as a program going beyond this season.
- Come be the next Jay legend.

As much as I want to be wrong, looks like this one simply comes down to playing time. And next year we have very little, if any, to offer. If he plans on being 1-and-done, Omaha isn’t meant to be. Let’s have a great year and pull a player like Primo for the next recruiting cycle when playing time is much more available.

Wouldn't get your hopes up, Bama's coach said he hopes to get a commitment this week...

Kira Lewis and John Petty declared for the draft today. Not looking great

Yeah, he was probably waiting for that to ensure more playing time.

Not to completely disregard Lewis and Petty's decisions, but coach Nate Oats indicated that neither will be signing with an agent. Additionally, Lewis is projected to go late-first round at best and is missing from a lot of mock drafts altogether. Petty's chances appear to be even worse. That's not to say both wouldn't just hire an agent anyway, but there certainly appears to be potential for one or both to return.

Additionally, as noted in this article (https://247sports.com/college/alabama/Article/Alabama-Basketball-Kira-Lewis-John-Petty-to-test-NBA-draft-waters-145346895/), this is the first time Oats has dealt with a player potentially being drafted. If I"m Primo, I pay serious attention to McDermott's success in preparing players for the NBA.

With all that said, it'd still surprise me if he wound up a Jay. But it's not impossible.
