Verbal commits just moved every team to NO interest except for Bama and Creighton.
He plans to enroll in school this summer wherever he goes. It appears he could be a one and done player.

Wow, he would be the highest rated recruit to come to Creighton by far....

I'm not sure why so many here are surprised he'd consider Bama. Sure, they're not a blueblood but they've been recruiting well as of late and Oats is going to be a good one there.

Sadly, he probably wouldn't get the minutes here as a True frosh that we wants, unless someone like TSA left early. If he's fine with coming off the bench and then being a guy his 2nd year, we have a great chance.

Need to land one of Primo/Walton.

I don't think they need to land one of them. It's be awesome if they could, but both seem like tough pulls right now.

Barring early departure, we get two years of Antwann and two years of Marcus after this. We'll see what happens with Windham and how Shereef develops. Assuming Mintz leaves and they have two more spots and that they don't get Primo or Walton, I think what they'd like to do is get one of the foreign bigs and then land a sit-out transfer on the wing to help ease the loss of the current junior class. Then in 2021 they definitely have to land a big fish or two plus perhaps a grad transfer.

In short, I think they'll be OK if they miss out on both those guys but it puts more pressure on them in 2021 to land a great class.

RE Alabama, I'd be surprised if Kira Lewis Jr. didn't declare for and stay in the draft.

You watch more basketball than any of us but I think Kira comes back for 1 more year.

As well as they seem to have recruited them, and with as much as I'd love to have one of them on the roster, I keep coming up to the same thinking.

It puts more pressure on 2021, but if we have a good run this year and next, that can really raise our visibility as well. I completely agree on the transfer and the foreign big. If a Transfer is as talented as A. Jones, that would really help stabilize things for the big graduations coming in 2021.

I suppose Alexander could keep moving up draft charts and hit the first round, but if that means a sweet 16 to final 4 run, I'm sure the coaches would be happy to figure things out !

He has an AAU teammate thats committed to Bama and I would assume they offer him more playing time but if he's really a 5 star talent, he would find minutes with us.

If he commits to us and is a five star potential one and done, does that mean we go to a four guard lineup and DJ comes off the bench? (Unless Tyshon continues upward trajectory and gets drafted in high 2nd round). I don’t see this guy just finding minutes as the only 5 star recruit on our roster, he would have to start.

Regardless of what you might think you know about Bama or the current state of its basketball, it is a formidable foe for Joshua's services. Because of its football money, Bama's facilities for the athletes (dorms, training table (literally a 5 star restaurant), etc.) are far superior to anything CU can ever dream about. If that is high on his list of priorities, that's a big hurdle for us. The campus is beautiful and spacious. Their football money has been put to good use. Decent weather other than some days in December and January (if you don't mind rain), its academics are actually good (average ACT in the upper 20s, I believe, and average HS GPA around 3.75) - CU may have an advantage there if that's important, but its not as big a gap as some might think. Of course, it has an incredible football game day atmosphere. Its an hour drive to Birmingham if you want big city atmosphere nearby, 4 - 5 hour drive to the gulf coast, 4 hours to New Orleans, 4 hours to Nashville and 3 hours to Atlanta. There are some advantages there. It would be a big win, IMO, for the staff to land him over Bama.

As for basketball considerations, I tend to think John Petty will not be back. He's projected 2nd round or maybe undrafted. But, he's a junior and now has a baby to feed. He may determine its time to make some money - even if that means Europe if he doesn't get a contract with an NBA team. If Joshua is truly thinking one and done, I do think he has a better chance of getting the most playing time at Bama next, depending on what Petty and Lewis do at Bama and what TyShon and Davion do. Wouldn't surprise me if Primo waits to see who stays and who goes after the season before making up his mind. Hoping the proximity of most BE locations to his family will help carry the day.

These are great problems to have, Duke, Kentucky, Kansas type problems of how to find minutes for a number of really talented players. We are not yet at their position with multiple 5 star players, but sure seems we are pretty close to having rosters with multiple 4 star players and occasional 5 star player. It makes me think we are definitely on our way to being one of the best programs in a power conference year in and year out.
