Wal Chuol 2020 Wing from Omaha North

Postby SonofFrankTomera » Sat Dec 21, 2019 1:39 pm

Has any of the board recruiting studs seen this kid yet? He is skinny but athletic as hell - 6'4 160lbs. His coach said hes the best player in the state last night after he had 28pts in North's upset win over Millard North. Really not seeing any recruiting info on Chuol other than on his twitter account where he thanked Pittsburgh States coach for visiting him.

Any idea what kind of player he is or if we may be interested? I remember back in the day we took a flier on a kid from North and he ended up pretty good. :D

Wal's got an offer from D-II Missouri Western State and that's about it. He'll probably end up going the JUCO route though.

He's a kid that's always had talent, but it hasn't translated to consistent and efficient production. Appears to have turned a bit of a corner this year based on the start he's gotten off to.

The ex Nebraska coach Tim Miles liked Chuol when he was a sophmore. I saw him twice last year. Does a couple of things each game that are really impressive. Will be spending my week off at the holiday tournament as usual. Hope to see him a few times there.

1st 1/4 Choul had 13 pts and hit everything
2nd 1/4, 0 pts?
3rd 1/4, 12 pts
4th 1/4, 3 pts for a total of 28 pts
He shines at times, both on drives and outside shots but seemed to take long periods of not producing at either end.
He had lots of turnovers as Burke stole the ball from him many times.
He is very thin and not tall at 6'4"?
Does not appear to be Creighton material, maybe a possible UNO recruit but not even sure about that.
I say Juco or D-2

This is not breaking news, but he is going the junior college route at Butler Community College in Kansas.
