I think it's a good sign that Richie's parents were wearing Creighton gear in the photo during Richie's visit. I wonder how many parents wear the schools gear when visiting schools not in their home state.

Agreed, parents who like the school make recruiting that much better!

I like this kid's game - he can handle pretty well, is a willing and good passer, he plays D in the limited clips I saw (his team site says he has a 6-7 wingspan, not Khyri type length, but good), can drive to the basket and finish, and, of course, he can really shoot.

Believe Hilltopalum said that he was planning on doing his mission after HS, though, so not sure how the scholarship works for that. Does leave the scholarship slot open for someone else until his time of return (2022?) Might be a good thing to have a guy coming to the team in 2022

He would technically not join the jays until 2022-23 right? Would still be a freshman then?

Jeopardy question: Where does Richie go?

uh Alex... I'll take the Jays for $50.

Not necessarily, there' s supposedly history between his HS Academy and BYU, but apparently the coaching staff at the Academy has changed, and BYU offered 3 of their players this year -- for the other 2, 1 went to Michigan State, 1 went to Fresno State. Not saying he won't go to BYU, but that we have a legit shot here, and his game suits our system very well.

Glad you didn't take the Jays for $100,000 and a lucrative job for dad

I can see it now. Richie commits to Jays tonight and then his old teammate Tristan comes to Omaha next season after he transfers from KU at the end of the season....
