Looks like Antwann made a new friend at the Jays' camp for kids with special needs. We already knew he was going to be a difference maker on the floor, but it looks like he's on his way to being that way off the floor too. :)

As transfer Antwann Jones puts NBA dream on hold, he's motivated to improve on Jays' scout team (Subscription required)

I'm really happy to have landed Jones. If anything, I think people really underrate his level of talent. He has some holes to work on prior to next year, but he fits what we want so well and brings a level of athleticism and physicality that we need so much in the BE. As we saw in the few games in Australia, he's a stat stuffer who does a lot more than just score to help his team.

IMO, he makes that 2019 class look much better than people realize -- K. Jones, A. Jones, Mitchell, and Windham are a very good class for a team that is stacked at most positions this year, and is likely to be even more stacked next year.

Looks like a great fit, both Antwann and Ryan are exactly what we need, wish they could play this year
At Creighton Bob Gibson majored in sociology and starred in Basketball and Baseball. In 1957 Gibson received a $3,000 sign-on bonus with St. Louis Cardinals, but delayed his HOF Cards career a year to play pro B-ball with the Harlem Globetrotters.

Coach Mac stated that they have applied for an eligibilty waiver for Antwann to play this year. Sure would help.

those would be some crazy minutes and depth at wing after Mahoney's back and Jefferson's healthy! A bit torn as I like the idea of him playing for us for 3 full years after this and for 2 years after Ballock and Alexander graduate as well

I'm torn on this too. Obviously, for this season, I love the idea of him playing. But for the program, especially given the weaknesses on this year's roster that Antwann won't solve, I like the idea of him being around for three full years with a better constructed supporting cast. Antwann will likely be much more valuable as a stronger-developed senior in the 2021-2022 season than he would be on this year's squad. Do we sacrifice that 2021-2022 season for now? I lean "no."
