Up until the commitment of Ryan, it was. We struck out on multiple 2020 guys we had been in on for a long time. The majority of the board wasn’t happy with the way recruiting was going until this commitment, which was massive. But go on trying to score points on revisionist history. You’re a better fan than I for never criticizing the program or the staff. Also, what did that “comical” comment and your response about Khyri have to do with each other, or have to do with anything that was being discussed with Ryan and his defensive prowess? Zero correlation.

Agreed. We ended up in the position where we had our top guy and only our top guy left again, and we ended up pulling it out this time which is huge for this staff and the program. Although 2019 was relatively disappointing this is a great get and something other players will hopefully take notice of for the rest of the 2020 class and the 2021 class. I saw our roster makeup for 2020-21 and it has the potential to be very very special. Probably need to add another PG and then add the best available player we can IMO.

Chucky Hepburn and Hunter Sallis would be nice

In the end, we didn't have a ton of open spots for 2019 (especially) and 2020.

2019 filled some key needs with Mitchell who's the kind of defensive PG we haven't had in a long time, and big, physical wing like Jones who was a top 100 guy and brings different skills that we need, and with K. Jones who fits into our Post depth perfectly. And I even like Windham for the longer term. We missed out on our top 2019 guy, but K Jones will do more for us this year than Enaruna would have (and more than he'll do while riding the bench for Kansas as well)

2020 has filled the absolute biggest need already. We probably need a lights out shooter now, but we can afford to be very selective there. I wouldn't be shocked to see us keep a scholarship back for '21 or for a transfer.

I think Kalkbrenner definitely helps the coach's recruiting pitch, we should have a good year this year and have a 7 foot shot blocker, pick and roll dunker for you to play with. Hepburn, Sallis, Mors, and more....

Home run commitment. HOME RUN.

I think they'll probably re-evaluate the market toward the end of the season and hit the transfer market hard.

Staff very high on Hepburn-Sallis-Mors and have made them a priority. If that is the plan taking some proven transfers to join team and sit out next year to supplement the aforementioned young trio seems like a good gameplan.

I think Creighton's just fine at point guard until 2021. I'm guessing they'll look to use one of the remaining 2020 spots on a transfer and then target the best player they can get with the other. I'm sure the fans would want a power forward but I wouldn't be surprised to see another scoring wing. If they strike out on either of those paths, they roll one over to next year.

Hepburn and Mors are both visiting Wisconsin this week. I think the Badgers might be Creighton's biggest competition for them right now.

Pray Kansas doesn't take a look at Sallis.

I really think another PG would be beneficial. One injury to Zeg and you could have 2016-17 all over again. Not that another PG would fix that necessarily but depth isn't a bad thing.
