I liked him when I saw his film and like him even more now. He's a guy who can be a MUCH better player in a year to 2 years, even toward the upper half/upper end of the BE in his position, IMO

The Texas A&M, Kansas, and VaTech boards have had some interesting commentary on this kid.

Im all for improving athleticism and Wur does that. As far as having the game to contribute next year for a Power 6 team, I say no where close to being able to and has redshirt writen all over himself. Hope Im proved wrong.

Would you mind linking these. I'm lazy and don't feel like searching. :) Thanks in advance!

was another vatech thread somewhere, but can't find it right now.

It's interesting seeing perceptions from other places. One thing I trust highly is the ability of our coaches to scout the local kids, and they were interested and stayed in touch even when they didn't think he'd qualify

Wur looks like a great athlete with tremendous upside, yes, I agree if he goes to CU Mac will probably recommend a redshirt. I don't know enough about Wur but I gather from this twitter account that he has stars in his eyes and might think that he is better than he actually is so we shall see.

I would be curious to see how Wur competed on the AAU circuit last summer, anyone know?

Yep.

His team wasn't on the top Under Armour circuit, so it wasn't like he was playing the best competition. He certainly put up some numbers in some games. Not sure how consistent he was, though.

The funny thing is I first saw Lök play when he was 14 playing up on a 15U Papio team and was really high on him. I pumped him up more than anybody early on. I've even played pick-up with him. Just kind of sad to see the direction things went since then. Hopefully things work out for him.

I remember you were a real brake pumper on Patton as well. If Wur turns out to be half as good as he was somebody is getting a steal, especially this late in the recruiting process.

A crystal ball prediction for Oregon just came in on 247. I wouldnt normally be concerned but the analyst has an over 98% accuracy rate.

I suggested patience as he had a lot of work to do both to his body and to his skill set. I said he needed to and likely would redshirt.

Here are some comments I made in Patton's recruiting thread.

JacobPadilla wrote:I covered one of his games this past season, and he was awful. I was thoroughly unimpressed. He airballed 3 jumpers and wasn't a huge presence on either end.

I've seen him play a few times this summer in the summer league, and he's looked like a completely different player. He's been more confident and is making his presence felt. Very mobile, good ball skills and a lot of length. His shot still needs plenty of work, so he's not really a stretch big at this point, but he is really good in transition and rolling to the basket.

JacobPadilla wrote:He's not as talented as Anthony Davis (obviously) but there are a lot of parallels as a guard who shot up an became a skinny big man while retaining some of the guard skills.

He is most definitely a project, but his rapid improvement is exciting. His ceiling is pretty high if he continues to work hard and is able to grasp the mental side of the game. How high? I have no idea. I don't have a lot of experience seeing kids like him first hand. They're pretty rare around these parts.
