Nebraska gets Akol Arop. Glad they finally can land a top in state player. They also got Donovan Williams from Lincoln who is 2020, I believe.

Why are you glad they finally can land a top in state player?

As a Jays fan, my preference would be for every single top in state player to go somewhere other than UNL. Maybe that's just me.

I am a little surprised that they were able to land Akol after what happened with Aguek. Whatever -- decisions these kids make often don't make sense, I guess.

It was sarcasm.... Lol.

However, in all seriousness, they’ve landed the top in state player in 2019 and 2020.

Would have gone to Creighton if offered, even willing to go to prep school for a year for Creighton. Great athlete and an even better kid, too bad.

Shereef was the top player in 18’ and it’s not even close.

You’re right about Shareef, just 2019 and 2020

Maybe NU got both Akol Arop and Donavan Williams because Creighton never offered either of them. In fact, Nebraska was the only major conference school to offer either of them. I assume CU didn't offer Arop because of his size at only 6'-5" and listed as a PF.

Sometimes the top player in the state is not someone who is a good fit at CU. Not saying every time Nebraska gets one of those guys we wouldn't have wanted him. But, I have never been sold on either Akol nor was I sold on Aguek. I will be shocked if we ever wish we could have landed Akol. I think the jury is still out on Williams. It does appear he has potential to be really good. But between him and Shereef, I like Shereef (who by the way will only be one year older than Williams, so Williams would know potentially he is playing in Shereef's shadow possibly for 3 years, or redshirt and two years). 15 years ago, you probably have a shot to get both. In today's sports world (If I'm not the guy, I'm going somewhere else), you most likely don't get both of those guys a year apart. Edit (or I guess it would be 2 years after). In any event, IMO Shereef is the better get.
