Creighton could have invested time else where. Seems like a case for damages to me.

Stiffer penalties need to come down or there is no deterrent and the member schools of the NCAA have no one to blame but themselves.

Will Creighton, or any school for that matter, sue/litigate for every recruiting miss (McQuaid, Foster, Mulder, etc.)? They would waste more money, time, effort in court - to lose. There is no "certaincy" in recruiting and no one forced Creighton to recruit any individual player. CU chose to recruit based on its' evaluations and all recruiting is a throw of the dice.

The NCAA is doing zilch thus far. They have to wait their turn as the Feds have this show. Once the FBI/Justice have penalized companies, sent dozens to jail, and put the "fear of God" into college basketball, then the little NCAA can do their thing. The Feds have a lot of work to do before the NCAA begins to do their shuffle. This will not be "business as usual". The Attorney General's office is just now turning to Nike, we have "miles to go" before they close this case.

Of course not, but every recruiting miss isn't because of something ILLEGAL done by a fellow NCAA institution.
I don't like investing my time and money into a tainted sport. How do you clean up the sport? The NCAA wont do it. Louisville will self impose sitting out the 2019-2020 NCAA tournament, take one scholarship reduction and will be good to go. It is a cesspool of cheating and everyone has their hand out gitmo. Clean it up and that goes for football too.

The obvious problem with trying to sue Louisville is that they're technically the victims of the crime, at least as far as the FBI is concerned. The wire fraud was committed against the school because they were fraudulently induced to offer a scholarship to an ineligible student.

Obviously, there's little doubt that school administrators knew or suspected what was going on. But the criminal case lends no leverage to a civil action against the other schools.

Interesting thought, if he became eligible who would take him.
