Go back to the first page of this thread, there was barely any info on him at all. That's what I would call 'under the radar'...yes he had a huge surge in interest this summer. But our staff wasn't late to the party, as they usually aren't...and it paid off.

my comments about ian playing center are just an observation of his physical tools. Huge body and great athletic ability for a big man (can jump without needing to gain momentum). He also has 40 lbs on Epperson. All I'm saying is that I'd love to see someone for us down low who could clean the glass, Ian screams potential in that area. Come 2018, I could see Jacob still getting pushed around on the block.

4 and 5 can be and are somewhat interchangeable for Mac. I tend to look at the Jays offense as a lead guard, two, maybe three wings depending on the sets and one, maybe two posts depending on the sets.

Plenty of minutes for Steere and Epperson.

Quote by Brad Stevens:

"I don’t have the five positions anymore," Stevens said. "It may be as simple as three positions now, where you're either a ball-handler, a wing or a big... It's really important. We've become more versatile as the years have gone on."

Steere enters the Rivals150 at #79, the highest debut in the rankings. He's now officially a four-star prospect in their ratings, too.

BTW, Bishop clocks in at #103 in the list.

Perhaps we will see a bit of Hi-Lo post play with 2 excellent bigs in the stable? A nice change up from the 4 out- 1 under format.

IMO, one of the best ways to beat a 2-3 from the wing (with the wing holding the ball being below the free throw line extended) when the defense fronts your big on the block, is to pass to your weak side big flashing to the strong-side elbow area from the opposite block, and quick dump pass down to the big on the block after he seals the guy who was previously fronting him. At the same time, depending on what the weakside wing defenders do in reaction, spot up your weakside wing somewhere along the three point line from about the FT line extended to the opposite corner. If the bottom weakside defender comes in to help on your big on the block, you have a man potentially wide open on the weakside to knock down the three. There are other options, but being able to get a big man who can see and pass over the defense the ball at the elbow from the wing can put a lot of pressure on a 2-3, I believe.
