Other than the ability to play on a competitive basketball team!

If he commits to DePaul then there is nothing we could have done for him.

DePaul's Scout site sent a reporter to cover Bowen at the McDonald's All-American Game practice today, so they obviously feel like they have a shot despite what the outside world thinks (even if it's just the DePaul staff using them to promote their cause). Either way, the fact that they're a player at all this late in the game after not being a serious contender before -- and being, you know, DEPAUL -- is bizarre.

Since we are on the subject of pay, just how much is the world valuated at currently? Probably less than a fair share in Chi-town, as everyone gets a cut. As said above...if he wants DePaul there is nothing we could possibly offer as a counter - other than winning.

More from AZ side of things

http://www.azdesertswarm.com/basketball/2017/3/27/15069292/arizona-basketball-who-is-staying-who-will-declare-for-the-nba-draft-markkanen-trier-simmons-alkins

Allonzo Trier — it’s 50-50
Allonzo Trier was close to declaring for the NBA Draft last year, but opted to stick around for his sophomore season.

Surprisingly, he didn’t even go through the pre-draft process, saying he wanted to be “all in” at Arizona instead.

Even though Trier was suspended by the NCAA for 19 games this season (which may factor into his decision to leave), he demonstrated improvement in nearly every facet of the game.

His assist numbers were better, his rebounding numbers were significantly better, and he shot better from 3. His defense wasn’t great, but it was still a noticeable upgrade from his freshman season.

Taking all that into account, it’s easy to see why Trier may think he’s ready to make the jump to professional basketball. Also, one CBS mock draft projects him to be the No. 10 pick, but I think that’s being overzealous.

Realistically, he projects as a late first-round pick or a second-round pick.

For what it’s worth, DraftExpress.com has Trier projected to be picked 36th in the 2018 NBA Draft, meaning they don’t expect him to go pro this year.

I wouldn’t be surprised either way, but if I had to pick one side, I would guess that he will head to the NBA.

As for DePaul - he'd obviously be focal part of offense, would get as many shots as he'd like, but would also be a target for opposing coaches to slow down, ie. Khyri Thomas, Mikael Bridges et al. Their involvement tells me he could see his game fitting into the Big East.

Why????? This is the most important decision he will have to make up to this point in his life. There is nothing saying he has to rush his commitment. He's probably enjoying the process. Clearly something about DePaul is appealing to him. Seems odd of you to question the kid when you have NO idea what is motivating his decision. None.

Can anyone have an opinion without you lecturing them pretending to be the end all, be all of knowledge?

He's a 5 star recruit, this is what happens when the recruit holds all the cards...if we are gonna recruit these types of players this is what's gonna happen.
