I was thinking the same thing because he's close with Cyrus, but it's a legit visit from everything I've seen. They've been "quietly working in his recruitment"

Honestly, we did everything we could for the kid. He saw the best atmosphere in CU history, he's been here at least 2 times, he saw how good our fans were AT DePaul.. I mean.. it's this late in the game and his final 5 were CU, Zona, MSU, Texas and NCST. DePaul wasn't even in the final 12. Makes me question the kid a bit to be honest

Let's not take this too seriously.

We've done all the right things, these kids get 1 shot at making the right call on a college.

Along the way they get an opportunity to take trips and see friends, cool cities, etc. If we want to play with the big boys, get used to having Tums moments up until signing day.

We may not ultimately get him, but we're still in a good spot.

There's no chance in hell he's going to DePaul. And I base that on zero inside knowledge. DePaul isn't just bad. They are one of the 3 or 4 worst programs in the nation. No chance.

Eye of the Jay wrote:What? Well I guess if he doesn't come to Creighton I'd want him to go to DePaul but that's mostly out of pity for their program.

This kids recruitment just gets weirder and weirder. No idea where he's leaning at this point

If he's friends with a current DePaul player, his visit just makes sense from the curtesy standpoint. Would be an insult to a program for you to be a major recruit and to go visit one of your buds and the school not be able to say you visited.

It has been reported that Josh Gershon of scout.com says it is down to Arizona and Creighton. It was also reported that he predicts Arizona but is maybe waiting to see the final rosters of the teams. I like our chances.

A few tidbits to chew on:

- KenPom's early 2017/18 projections have Nova as #1, but in terms of Tugs these early rankings are important as he believe/projects Arizona to be #2 due to Trier, Alkins and Simmons returning to school. Again, if those three return to Zona, Creighton stands a good chance with landing him.

http://kenpom.com/blog/2018-pre-season-top-ten/

- Also hearing rumors both new Illinois head coach Brad Underwood as well as DePaul's Dave Leitao are thinking about bringing LaLu head coach Shane Heirman to their staff. I am not sure the current rules on recruiting players from HS to NCAA being their former coach yet this could put both these schools in the running for Tugs. They would need to make up a lot of ground however. Having said that former Jay and LaLu head coach Alan Huss took a job with New Mexico a few years ago and has not landed any of his former players while there so while those connections help they are not automatic.
