Yep, Preston Murphy's son is one of the better prospects in the area and was just invited, again, to a John Lucas Guards Camp. One of the more exclusive and elite camps country of elite level talent in middle school.

Here's a recap of his efforts last Fall at camp

Preston Murphy, Jr. (2021/5’7/130/Omaha, NE) - Displayed superior ball skills and had great feel for when to make plays for himself and his teammates. Finished in the paint at a high level.

At 5'7", 130 pounds, I fear he may be overmatched in the Big East.

Wouldn't that make him an 8th grader? He's got time to grow!

I have seen him play. For his age, he's good. Lots of water left to go under the bridge but it's hard to argue that he may have an advantage by just being a kid of a coach... Lots of gym time and exposure to older players never hurts.

FWIW, Steve Merfeld's son is a freshman playing JV at Skutt and D-Rock's son is an 8th grader who plays at OSA with Preston. All three are pretty good players.

There are also children of former Jays playing in area of note. In particular, Latrell Wrightsell's son is a player.
