Dude... come on now. Nobody is going to give up a scholarship in the name of 'tradition.' Each was their own special circumstance. Kreklow, being the legend that he is, may be the lone exception.

The scholarship that has opened up in the aftermath of Stewart leaving should go to someone who can come in and play immediately. A bigger guy is obviously a need, but given that it's hard to get reasonable frontcourt players who are eligible immediately, I think you take the best available at who is willing to come.

Will it happen? I don't know...I just think it has been pretty cool, we have those type of individuals on the team that have been willing to do it.

I believe both GG and Kreklow had graduated, so neither had to pay 50K. I think you only have to take 6 hours of grad classes to compete, so the cost of tuition is probably no more than $10K to 15K plus room and board (which for a graduate student probably means sharing an apartment with some guys and cost of food). Presumably Zierden will still be an undergrad, so that's a lot more expensive. If anyone gives up a schollie, its going to be someone who has graduated already or another grad transfer who is willing to pay his own way to play here.

FYI -
NC State in trouble. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaab-the-dagger/
Cat Barber is leaving for draft. The Martin twins (SF) are set to transfer.

Won't be as strong next season (Paradise Jam just took a hit)

So can we hope he graduates early and opens a finger pistol store near downtown Omaha? Then his scholarship would be available....

Pretty sure Geoff after graduating was working for the school teaching and was actually being paid by Creighton. If we can get that deal for zierden too then that helps him get paid and open source a scholly up for the team. Pretty win-win IMO

@Yeti-

Geoff paid zero tuition this year. He was a TA in the business school and, by giving up his scholarship, not only qualified for tuition remission, but also was able to be paid a stipend.

When's the last time you made a post that wasn't saturated in either pure negativity or snarky nastiness? I am going to guess it's probably measured in months.

I think you expend more energy complaining about everyone else's posts than everyone else puts into their posts. It's a message board. Do you have to reply every time someone says something you don't like?
