Who would you have predicted to have higher RPI's this past season?
- Missouri or a school called Grand Canyon?
- St. John's or UNO?
- Minnesota or Texas-Arlington?

If you're being honest, you would have been wrong on all three, by a lot. There are countless other examples. So, I'm with jayball. ESPECIALLY when talking about teams in that 200-300+ range, It's a futile and inefficient exercise. I really hope our staff and athletic department aren't committing a bunch of time trying to predict the respective RPIs of 200-300+ teams like Coppin St. and Elon for our buy-in games when setting our schedule.

Elon is getting a lot of run. Good for them.

Grand Canyon...nice...Dan Majerle is their coach now.

And I know two Creighton grads who would have been thrilled about a game with Elon...their son plays for them.

I know you love playing devil's advocate, Vivid. But those are exceptions, not the rule.

Just look at the bottom 50 teams. Those teams are generally pretty bad. So do not schedule them.

I absolutely love being devil's advocate, but I don't think I'm doing that here. I'm simply stating that we are scheduling the quality of teams that nearly every other major conference team schedules for their buy-in games. There will always be 2-4 Longwoods on the schedule, so there's no sense in getting upset every season when it happens. If we have six Longwoods, I'll be right there griping with you.

In just the last four years, Longwood has played Oklahoma City, George Mason, Iowa, South Carolina, TCU, Penn State, St. John's, CREIGHTON (2012-2013; we won by 48), Arkansas, Georgetown, VCU, and Seton Hall. It's a reality of OOC scheduling. And that's not the exception; it is the rule. We need to do better in that middle tier more than the bottom tier, IMO.

Former Portland Trail Blazer, Jerome Kersey, is an alum. That's cool, I guess.

Jon Rothstein tweeting Creighton has scheduled UT-Martin for next season. For those concerned, RPI past 5 years...204, 177, 332, 312, 326

I'd be fine playing Judas Priest.

Judas Priest probably will have a better RPI than UT Martin.

UT Martin was 177 last year...isn't that what everyone has been demanding?

Love this board!

I'm hoping those higher RPI numbers are the last couple of years? A sub-200 RPI opponent is good if they can do that again this season.
