After the U Conn win, it’s amazing to think that Mac took a team that defeated the number one team (KU) but lost the leading scorer in that game and completed remolded the team with one guard and one wing playing significant minutes. Simply an amazing job of coaching.

Looking forward to when Coach gets Fedor integrated. We are on a roll. The future is bright!

I’m not really expecting anything out of Fedor for this year and I don’t expect him to be on the roster after this year. I hope I am wrong on this. He came to the US to play college ball to improve his chances at the NBA, and garbage minutes and DNP’s will only hurt those chances. He needs to find a school/ team where he is given a fair opportunity to play. I guess those “big 3 minutes” at the end of the Providence game were not so big after all.

You didn’t see Jacob’s highlight video? That’s lottery pick material right there bub.

Seriously though SoFT, lova ya buddy but I hope you’re dead wrong on this.

I’m seeing Fedor pull a Mitch Ballock at Wintrust and move into the rotation permanently from there on out.
At Creighton Bob Gibson majored in sociology and starred in Basketball and Baseball. In 1957 Gibson received a $3,000 sign-on bonus with St. Louis Cardinals, but delayed his HOF Cards career a year to play pro B-ball with the Harlem Globetrotters.

Think you're off-base with his motivation.

I have zero problem with FZ not playing at UCONN - coach was coaching to win and win we did. Hard Stop.

Not getting into whether he is or isn’t going to be upset about playing time or anything — all signs to the outside suggest he is bought in and fine.

But — this is odd. Are you saying his motivation is not to play college ball and improve his NBA stock? What else would his motivation for coming here be?

My guess is that it means Fedor wasn’t anticipating only playing one year of college basketball

Finding another school would *also* not mean playing only one year. This year is in the books with regard to that.

Fedor wasn't ready for a game like we saw yesterday @UConn. It's not his fault, but he was out for so long and while he's been making strides, we couldn't afford to sub him for Neal (no way we could take Neal out of the game yesterday), and Miller/Green did just a great job on Karaban as well (he came into the game scoring a bit under 16ppg w/ a .622 TS% -- and ended up with only 3/12 and 0/3 3PT)

Just one or two times of going under a screen or a single missed assignment might have gotten a guy like Karaban going and ended our chances. Fedor's going to be a star next year when paired with Pop in the backcourt, but for this year, he needs games like this next one where he can continue to work into the system

Was talking about the NBA being his driving motivation. He'd obviously like to play there at some point, but it's not like he was a draftable player (despite submitting his name) when he arrived at Creighton. He came to play college basketball because he wanted to play college basketball, and found Creighton was a good fit for what he wanted to get out of the experience (which does include development and stock improvement for the NBA I'm sure). He's also found an off-court reason to stick around, but that's his personal business.

Again, not guaranteeing anything because if he just never makes progress his people could get in his ear and his feelings could change, but Creighton wasn't just a short-term stepping stone to the NBA.
