Would have thought there would be at least some minutes for him.

He's been behind Knox and Thomas in practice reps from what I've seen. Been trying to say fans need to adjust their expectations for him as a freshman or they're going to be disappointed and confused. The athletic talent is undeniably there, but he's still figuring things out.

Supposedly not adjusting to the system too well.

Good points, Jacob. One thing that the NIL helps here is that it makes it a bit easier for a kid to work on development and S&C rather than trying to get paid in a pro league as soon as possible. I love LJ's ceiling, but playing the 2 in the BE can be brutal and experience matters a great deal in both the BE and our system. Creighton's S&C and development are top notch, though, and as much as I'd love to see him play early, I just want us to get a plan for him to reach his potential

Not sure it is his conditioning and physicality that is the issue, so much as it is his ability to play within Mac's system.

That is kind of concerning as Mac's system is not overly complicated. The base offense & defense shouldn't be hard to understand and figure out where you need to be quickly. Maybe it's more of remembering all the different sets/plays they call??

I've played with guys before that were uber talented and could run motion on offense but if they were on the floor the coach couldn't call a set because they would have no clue what they needed to do in that particular set.

Merfeld said on a recent podcast that LJ has moments of greatness followed by moments where they are left dumbfounded. Not the best thing to hear about a seemingly highly touted recruit.

Not to raise any alarms, but LJ is a potential way to early portal entry. Would be a huge bummer to lose him, but such is the age of CBB right now.

Hurley's found a way to keep high caliber players who aren't playing right away.

I think he's probably OK physically to play, but working into the system takes time, and for a guy who relies on getting into the paint and finishing through/with contact, the S&C will only make him better. It also can depend a lot on what kind of system a guy was in in HS/AAU as there can be a learning curve. I think LJ will get there though, and, as I said, I love his potential
