While Kalk is our best player, Ash is our MVP. I can't imagine what kind of year we'd have without Ash at this point. Ash is a stud with the game he played yesterday while throwing up with the flu during player introductions and playing 40 minutes.

If the "flu" he and Kalk had is the norovirus, I worry that the rest of the team could get smacked by it, too. That'd just be consistent with the luck (or lack of luck) the Jays have had this year.

I don't think it's that weird. I'd bet coaches see plenty of value in a closed door scrimmage where you can compete against another good team and try different things without the public present.

But they probably see even more value in revenue drivers, of course.

Yeah, I meant "weird" more in terms of the charade of them being super-secret, when info always leaked out anyway. I didn't phrase that right

The actual scrimmage itself was very beneficial to the teams. Maybe more than an exhibition in terms of coaching and teaching on the spot.
