Getting smoked at Mizzou now.

KU has wins over UNC, Sparty and Duke. Not sure how based on what we’ve seen this week.

This week they played road games.

Didn't necessarily expect the Jays to be ranked, but how is Houston still ranked #15. They lost to bama, Auburn and San Diego St and their best win is prob Butler. Meanwhile, Creighton outside of the Nebraska loss, lost to Texas A&M and SDSU but also have beaten the then-#1 team in the nation handily.

Was hoping we would be ranked for the Bama showdown this week, oh well. Bet we would have been ranked if we still had Pop for the season. Meanwhile, the women are only getting like 5 votes despite playing well lately and beating a ranked nebraska, which did not get them much credit in the eyes of the voters.

Or if KU hadn’t immediately dropped a second straight road game

Pop gets Big East Player of the Week for last week.

Well deserved.

But also a cruel irony for Bluejay fans

You cannot tell me that KU being Pop's last game was not thought out long before the announcement. Perhaps even since the season started.

Get a few games out of him, get him paid and keep the medical redshirt intact (mentioned by Mac.) I would assume most thought the Fedor issue would be straightened out by now.

I made a couple of comments to my wife during the KU game that Pop seemed to really be into that game. I assumed it was the TTU history and wanting to get back at KU. Also made sense that this was his last game for awhile and wanted to go out on a high note.

I have zero inside information and I am not a conspiracy theorist. This just looks pretty obvious to me

Why would they risk an entire season with Kalk Ash and Neal for that. If you knew pop wasn’t going to play the whole season you go and get a different two guard

I am not sure where Pop had his most recent surgery. Assuming it was in his hometown of Vegas, maybe he went to see the surgeon during the recent Vegas tournament. The doctor may have advised him to have the surgery, but Pop wanted to play in the KU game knowing he could still medically redshirt.

Pop filmed the Let it Fly podcast the day after the KU game and gave no indication he was done for the year. Of course, he could have seen a local doctor last Thursday or Friday and got the news then. Who knows.

The Let it Fly interview was good and is worth watching. Pop said BYU was the other school he strongly considered in the portal. I found that a little surprising other than BYU really increased its NIL budget.
