I got an earful at the BE tourney while I was having beer with a half dozen long time Nova fans. They were almost sorry that Nova won their first game against Depaul, because they want to move on from Neptune. They correctly predicted that he wouldn't get canned. A loss would've guaranteed he would be sent packing.

a loss like last night happens sometimes, but that team has had way too much talent to end up 17-17, 18-16 the last 2 years without making the tournament either year

At Creighton Bob Gibson majored in sociology and starred in Basketball and Baseball. In 1957 Gibson received a $3,000 sign-on bonus with St. Louis Cardinals, but delayed his HOF Cards career a year to play pro B-ball with the Harlem Globetrotters.
