This game should be a sellout as Purdue was in the final 4 last year and it's the best game out of the first 5 games even with it being an exhibition game. Proceeds go to CHARITY.
Wake up fans and buy your tickets.

Think a lot of people are waiting to see what time that Ohio State-Nebraska football game is. Hard pill to swallow but it's reality. If that football game's a night game that'll affect attendance drastically.

How many Jaysker-haters just barfed all over their keyboard reading this painful (for them) truth?

I'll be at the Creighton game! Not all Jayskers are built the same.

For the past several offseasons, I've loved our depth. This offseason is no different. And each year, I was fooled and we have little depth. I really hope this is the year Lucy doesn't pull back the football again.

Over the years, it seems to me this topic has largely settled into a "chicken or the egg" dilemma on this board.

The dilemma boils down to, "do we never have depth, or do the coaches fail to develop the depth such that, at the point in the season where the depth is needed/valuable, it functionally does not exist because using it would lose us games?"

From my view, these are the players that have failed to live up to their expectations and provide needed depth:

Jonathan Lawson
Isaac Traudt
Fredrick King

Guys like Christofilis, Schtolzberg, and Modestas don't really count IMO because they were always long shots to be contributors. Where they ended up after leaving Creighton validates the coaching staff's decision to keep these guys on the bench.

For the three listed above...
---Lawson is an open-and-shut case of poor recruiting evaluation on the coaches' part.
---Traudt is a mixed bag. He seemed a step slow for the BE level last year, and because of that didn't provide anything beyond shooting. Not sure how the coaches could have judged that prior to him stepping onto campus. The consensus here based on his HS highlights was that he'd make an impact. Hopefully the cut weight helps him be more agile because he proved to be a reliable shooter in his limited minutes.
---King, in my view, is also a mixed bag, with perhaps some misjudgment of his potential during recruiting. His feel for the game is not great. It also doesn't help he has had to ride the bench behind the program's MVP the past two seasons. Perhaps in a different universe, the extra minutes would have helped him learn to play solid D and he'd be an impact player.

For the years since Modestas came on campus (RS freshman year), the number of players averaging 10+ mpg is:
---9 (20-21)
---8 (21-22), 9 if you count Feazell who avg'd 9.9 and played a key role in the NCAAT
---6 (22-23)
---6 (23-24)

Is this trend due to NIL, the complexity of our offense (has this changed recently?), the fact our top-end talent has improved in the past 4 years, pressure on the coaching staff to depend on the best players to win games and maintain our rankings?

Complex issue that always leads to some interesting discussion. What I will say is that, guys like LJ, McAndrew, and Greer should be assumed to leave for greener pastures if they don't get significant minutes right away.

This may be BS but according to this 3PM is the latest possible start.
